Getting to UCM
The University of Central Missouri is located in Warrensburg, which is 50 miles southeast of Kansas City at the intersection of U.S. Highway 50 and Missouri Highway 13. Warrensburg is about 45 minutes from downtown Kansas City and 90 minutes from Kansas City International Airport.
Please note: Concerts I-VIII will be held in Hart Recital Hall, located within the Utt Music Building on UCM's Warrensburg campus. Concert IX will be held in Hendricks Hall, located with the Administration building, which adjoins the Utt Music Building. All papers will be given in the Utt Music Building.
Directions to campus
All attendees are strongly advised to include a car in their travel plans. Taxi service between the airport and UCM is available, but averages $75 each way. Old Drum Transportation (800-276-6287) provides public bus transportation to campus from various locations in Warrensburg. For details check out the Old Drum schedule. Parking
While visitor parking is free at UCM, there are far too few spaces available in the two visitor lots to accommodate the SCI conference. All other parking lots on campus require permits. The campus police are quick to issue tickets to cars without permits! Permits are not required on weekends or after 5PM on weekdays.
Parking permits for the student parking lots will be available at no charge to SCI conference registrants at the registration desk. Please note you will need to park in the visitor lot long enough to check in for the conference and receive your parking passes. We ask that you kindly move your car to a student lot afterwards, to make room for other attendees in the visitor lot. We recommend the north visitor lot, as it is very close to the Utt Music Building. If the north visitor lot is full, the walk from the south visitor lot takes about 8 minutes.

From the north via Interstate 70
From the west via US 50

From the south via Hwy 13
From Kansas City International Airport:
Take 435 East (this becomes 435 South). Exit on Interstate 70 East.
From I-70 East, take the Highway 13 exit (Exit 49, Warrensburg-Higginsville).
Turn right and drive south to Warrensburg, approximately 16 miles. Highway 13 becomes Maguire, the main north-south street through Warrensburg.
Continue on Maguire to Broad Street. You will see a sign that says Central Missouri State University. The campus has two visitor parking lots, both off Maguire.
For the north lot, turn west on South Street; it is the second driveway to the south.
For the south lot, turn west on Clark Street; the lot is at the intersection of Clark and Holden. Both have red-topped attendant's booths that help visitors locate the lots. Parking is free to visitors.
From the north via Interstate 70:
From Interstate 70 East, take Hwy 13 (Exit 49, Warrensburg-Higginsville). Travelers using Interstate 70 West, will also take Exit 49 to access Hwy 13.
Drive south to Warrensburg, about 16 miles.

Continue past the Bus. 50 turn-off to the Warrensburg exit. Turn right onto Hwy 13.

Continue on Maguire until Clark Street. Turn left onto Clark Street. Within two blocks is the south visitor parking lot at the intersection of Clark and Holden.
For the north visitor lot, continue on Maguire until South Street. Turn left and within a block the visitor lot will be to your south. Red-topped attendant's booths are visible at both lots. Parking is free to visitors.
Campus Maps
The Utt Music Building is near the northeast corner of campus. The main entrance to the building faces Hwy 13. After parking in the north visitor lot, attendees should walk back to Hwy 13, then turn south. The Utt Music Building is on your right, roughly one block south of South Street, just before the pedestrian overpass across Hwy 13. Enter the building and come upstairs to the registration desk, lobby, and Hart Recital Hall.
